Infra-Popliteal Artery

Infra-popliteal arteries are the arteries located below the knee that supply oxygen-rich blood to the lower leg, ankle, and foot. They include the anterior tibial, posterior tibial, and peroneal arteries.

Narrowing or blockage in these arteries can reduce blood flow to the foot and may occur as part of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). Patients may experience leg pain while walking, numbness, cold feet, slow-healing wounds, or, in advanced cases, tissue damage.

Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are important to restore blood flow, relieve symptoms, support wound healing, and help preserve limb health. Treatment may include lifestyle changes, medications, endovascular procedures such as angioplasty, or other interventions depending on the severity and location of the blockage.
